How to read an SMS code on InstantNum
Pick a country, open a number, paste it into the app that is sending the text, then refresh the inbox. The full walkthrough.
You need a one-time code but do not want to use your own SIM. InstantNum shows shared numbers with a live inbox in the browser. Here is the usual flow.
Before you start
Check which country the app expects. A US-only signup will often reject a German number. You only need a browser — no account on InstantNum.
1. Open a country page
From the home page or Countries, pick the region you need. You will see a list of numbers. Ones marked online are currently taking traffic.
2. Open an inbox
Click a number to open its message list. Copy the full number including the country code (+1, +44, etc.). Keep the inbox tab open.
3. Request the SMS in the other app
Paste the number into WhatsApp, Telegram, a web form, whatever is asking. Trigger “send code”. Delivery is usually under a minute but shared numbers can lag when busy.
4. Read and use the code
Refresh the inbox if nothing appears yet. Copy the digits and finish verification. Remember: anyone else can open this inbox too. Do not use it for email recovery or banking.
If it fails
Try another number from the same country. Some services block known public ranges. For persistent problems, see why SMS sometimes never arrives.
